Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche is known as one of the most compassionate Bodhisattavas and greatest masters in the history of Tibetan Buddhism. In 1947 he was the head spiritual master for Reting Rinpoche, who was at the time political ruler of Tibet. He is the Vajra Regent or principal lineage holder, of three major lineages of the Nyingma School: Longchen Nyingthig, Dudjom Tersar and Sera Khandro. He rescues millions of endangered animals each year and has been a strict vegetarian for over forty-five years. Now in the his 90's, he is as active as ever, helping humans and animals alike with an unfathomably deep compassion.
